Nadia Summers (she/her)
Ngāi Tahu / Kāi Tahu

Dr Nadia Summers is a Registered Clinical Psychologist with experience in mental health, Kaupapa Māori, legal, and correctional services. She has a particular interest in supporting clients and whānau who are neurodiverse, rainbow/queer, and Māori, ensuring that therapy is affirming, strengths-based, and culturally responsive.

Nadia’s approach is collaborative and tailored to each person’s needs. She values creating a safe and inclusive space where people feel heard, respected, and empowered. In her practice, Nadia draws on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy, with a strong emphasis on the importance of identity, community, and lived experience in mental health and wellbeing.

Nadia has also worked in both lecturing and research roles, with a strong focus on how social determinants—especially justice, housing, and systemic factors influence wellbeing. Her PhD and post-doctoral research examined inequities in health systems and research, particularly for women, transgender and non-binary communities, and Māori.

Nadia has limited availability for new therapy clients on Fridays.
