Mary O'Donoghue
Mary is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who works with adults of all ages. She works in a respectful, approachable, warm, and authentic manner informed by evidence-based practices.
Mary currently works in private practice and at Te Whatu Ora in specialist adult mental health. She has previously worked in the prison system, delivering individual and group treatment, and was once a social worker in adult services, working with families, couples, and individuals.
Mary’s areas of interest and experience are in the fields of trauma, attachment, interpersonal relationships, and personality vulnerabilities. She enjoys working with both individuals and couples. Mary values diversity and embraces the tenets of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in her practice.
Trained in a number of therapeutic modalities, Mary is an accredited Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT) Therapist and Supervisor. Mary places the client at the heart of therapy using an integrative approach that is responsive to client's needs and struggles, to help them build a better understanding of themselves and others and empower them to create positive change in their lives.
